Privacy Policy

Who we are

Bibsca is a Bible reading and listening app made by Bible Scrolls App, LLC (“we,” “us”), a Texas limited liability company. This policy covers Bibsca — the web reader and any installed app — and our website, bibsca.com.

We try to collect as little as we can. We do not show ads, we do not use tracking or analytics tools, and we never sell your information. If you have a question, email [email protected].

Reading without an account

You do not need an account to read or listen. Without one, we do not know who you are. Your bookmarks, highlights, notes, collections, settings, and reading place stay on your device.

Your device still asks our servers for pages, Bible text, and audio narration, the same way any website works. Our host, Cloudflare, sees ordinary technical details such as your IP address and browser type. We use those only to deliver Bibsca and keep it secure.

The web reader can save copies of pages and Bible text in your browser so it works offline. An installed app can download Bible text and narration for offline use. Those copies stay on your device.

Looking up words

When you select words in Scripture, Bibsca offers a few lookups:

Wiktionary, Wikipedia, and Google follow their own privacy policies. We do not control what they keep.

If you create an account

An account is optional. You sign in with your email address and a one-time code we email to you. There is no password. Unless you buy a membership, your email address is the only identity we hold. We use it to sign you in and to send messages about your account and membership.

When you create an account, you agree that we can also email you news, updates, and offers about Bibsca. To stop these marketing emails at any time, email [email protected]. We will still send sign-in codes and messages about your account.

After you sign in, a secure cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is not used for tracking.

What syncs across your devices

With a Silver or Gold membership, Bibsca can keep these in sync between your devices:

Each one has its own switch in your account settings. Turn a switch off and that category stays on your device only. Display choices, such as text size and dark mode, follow your account so Bibsca looks the same everywhere. Your reading place in the text stays on each device.

We store synced content with Cloudflare. Other users cannot see it. We can technically access your notes, highlights, bookmarks, collections, and chats. We use them only to provide and improve Bibsca. We never sell them.

Home Screen widgets use a copy of your collections kept on your device. Widgets do not connect to our servers.

Paid memberships

Stripe handles checkout, monthly billing, and the subscription portal. When you start checkout, we give Stripe your email address and a random account number. You type your payment details on Stripe’s pages, so we never see or store your full card number.

If you pay for a membership, we can see the name and billing address you give Stripe. We use them only for billing, tax, and account support. We also keep your Stripe customer number, your plan, the dates your plan started and was last checked, and the start and end of your current billing period. Stripe keeps payment records under its own privacy policy.

If your paid plan ends and you no longer have sync, we delete your synced bookmarks, highlights, notes, and collections from our servers. The copies on your devices stay.

AI chat

AI chat and “Ask a Question” are part of the Gold membership. A computer writes the answers, not a person. When you use them:

Faith is personal

What you read, highlight, write, or ask about can reveal your religious beliefs. We treat all of it as sensitive. We use it only to provide and improve Bibsca. We never sell it or share it for advertising.

What we do not do

Companies that help us

These companies help run Bibsca. Each one handles your information only to do its job for us:

We share information with others only if the law requires it. If that happens, we share only what is required, and we tell you first unless the law does not allow it. If Bibsca is ever sold or merged, this policy stays in place for your information, and we will tell you before anything changes.

How long we keep information

Deleting your account

Open your account settings and choose Delete Account. We permanently delete your account and everything synced with it from our servers. If you have a paid plan, deleting your account cancels it right away. Copies on your devices stay there. You can also email [email protected] from your account address and we will delete it for you.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you, correct, give you a copy of, or delete the information we hold about you. You can do most of this yourself in Bibsca. For anything else, email [email protected]. We will answer within 45 days and will not treat you differently for asking.

If we cannot do what you ask, we will explain why. You can reply to appeal. If you still disagree, you can contact your state attorney general.

Children

Bibsca is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

Everything sent between your device and our servers is encrypted. Other users cannot see your synced content. No system is perfectly secure, so we also protect you by keeping as little as possible. If a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change matters, we will make it easy to see and email account holders before it takes effect.
